Comms Firm TCEG Opens Behavioural Science Unit

September 3 2020

In London, comms specialist The Creative Engagement Group (TCEG) has launched a Behavioural Science unit, headed up by Guy Champniss.

Guy ChampnissTCEG engages internal and external audiences through the creation and delivery of live and virtual experiences, film, branded content, immersive and interactive content. The new Behavioural Science team will partner with all TCEG's divisions, including capability development consultancy Cormis; employee engagement consultancy Forty1; Axiom - the scientific engagement and training division; and its digital learning solutions arm, Logicearth.

Champniss (pictured) joins after running his own business, Meltwater Consulting, where he focused on the application of behavioural science to strategic marketing issues to develop new products, services and customer experiences. Earlier, he helped bring US energy and behaviour technology firm Enervee to market, and he has also spent the past three years as Professor of Applied Behavioural Science & Innovation at the IE School of Human Sciences and Technology.

In his new role as Head of Behavioural Science, Champniss will work on a number of behaviour change programmes with TCEG clients, while adding behavioural science insight and models to TCEG's event and experiential offer through WRG and Just Communicate, as well as its film, digital and immersive technology division, The Moment. Commenting on the launch of the new unit, Group CEO Russ Lidstone said: 'All areas of our unusually shaped business are focused on engaging audiences in ways that other communications groups cannot. We are able to apply the psychology and inform behaviour, not simply talk about it at conferences. I'm excited about the possibilities of combining scientific rigour with our creative capabilities to create moments that inspire the lasting change that business needs now more than ever'.
