Entercom Buys Consumer Sports Data Firm QLGG

In the US, news and sport radio broadcaster Entercom has acquired consumer sports data platform QL Gaming Group (QLGG) in an all cash deal valued at approximately $32m.

Justin ParkQLGG operates three data and analytics apps: BetQL for sports betting, which uses a proprietary algorithm and advanced analytics to deliver direct-to-consumer data; RotoQL which provides daily fantasy sports information; and SquadQL through which users can manage their teams using optimal line-up recommendations and personalized news. The company also operates AccuScore for simulation-based sports outcome predictions and game forecasting; and TennisInsight.com for analytical coverage of the ATP and WTA tours.

Entercom says the deal brings 'unrivaled data, analytics and insight-driven content' to its sports broadcast stations, podcasts and RADIO.COM digital audio platform, which reach nearly 30 million sports fans monthly. Justin Park (pictured), co-founder and CEO of QLGG, will continue to lead the business, reporting to Mike Dee, President of Sports, and JD Crowley, Chief Digital Officer.
