Seed Funds for Analytics Start-Up ANTENNA

ANTENNA, which provides analytics for media subscription businesses, has raised $4.2m in a seed round of funding, which it will use to launch online client tools, expand its coverage into new subscription categories, and launch content and ad analysis solutions.

Jonathan Carson and Rameez TaseFounded in February by former Nielsen Digital CEO and BuzzMetric co-founder Jonathan Carson, and media analyst Rameez Tase, New York-based ANTENNA tracks purchase behavior and other market measurement metrics across the subscription media ecosystem - including video, audio and digital media. Focused on data around customer transactions, the firm's platform also enables users to see how their growth, churn, retention, switching and customer value metrics compare with the rest of the market.

New funding has been led by Raine Ventures, with participation from several angel investors, and will be used partly to expand into categories such as gaming, audio, publishers, health and wellness, and education. Carson says Raine Ventures understood ANTENNA's value proposition from the first conversation due to its deep expertise across all aspects of media and technology.
