Seed Funds for Beauty Sector Platform TactileAI

March 18 2021

US-based TactileAI, a B2B consumer data analytics platform for the beauty care industry, has raised $1m in a seed round of funding, which it will use to hire software engineers and data scientists to build out its enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution.

Victor OhFounded last November by former Lux Research Lead Analyst Victor Oh (pictured) and based in San Francisco's Bay Area, TactileAI provides a platform through which beauty brands can access in-home consumers for testing, and obtain consumer insights using data science and machine learning. The firm claims to have the world's largest community of consumers testing beauty care industry products.

Seed funding has come from early-stage venture capital fund SpringCamp, which is backed by NAVER, the Seoul-based tech company that operates South Korea's largest search engine. Commenting on the news, Oh said: 'I'm very proud to get our first investment from South Korea and I'm confident that by combining our expertise from Silicon Valley and Korea we can quickly globalize our platform for beauty care companies'.
