Snap Buys Fashion Sizing Tech Company Fit Analytics

Camera app Snap has acquired shopper apparel and footwear sizing technology specialist Fit Analytics, which captures customer intelligence for clothing firms. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Sebastian SchulzeWith bases in Chicago and Berlin, Fit Analytics offers creation of a 'fit profile' for consumers, mapping their measurements, preferences and purchase history against those of their peers. As well as delivering apparel sizing recommendations to consumers, the firm's machine-learning algorithms and eCommerce insight are used to develop quarterly business intelligence reports, containing detailed information about product, user sentiment and point of purchase trends.

Fit Analytics' team of 100 staff will now report to Snap VP of Engineering Nima Khajehnouri. Fit Analytics will continue to operate its existing business, while helping Snap build its shopping platform.

Commenting on the deal, Fit's CEO and co-founder Sebastian Schulze (pictured) said: 'By leveraging Snap's scale and capabilities, we will not only continue to service our existing clients, but also deepen our relationships and offerings with our brand partners and retailers. Our main focus going forward will be to scale the Fit Analytics business and work with Snap to grow their shopping platform, leveraging our technology and expertise'.
