Former Nasdaq MR Leader joins FMI

Food Marketing Institute (FMI), the association for grocery retailers and wholesalers, has appointed Debbie Gann as its new Director of Research.

FMI's 2,100 US members operate approximately 26,000 retail food stores with a combined annual sales volume of $340 billion - three-quarters of all food retail store sales in the United States. It also has 200 international member companies from 60 countries.

Gann has more than 25 years experience in research, and served as the Co-Director of Marketing Research for The Nasdaq Stock Market, where she was part of a 10-member leadership team responsible for planning all activities regarding acquisition, retention, pricing and servicing of companies. She was also director of market research for Equitable Life Insurance, senior research advisor at AARP, and senior research director for Response Analysis Corporation.

She earned a MBA in marketing from Georgia State University and a BS with honors in advertising from the University of Texas.
