VST Launches 'Planogram Visualizer' Virtual Shelf Tool

August 23 2021

Retail tech provider Virtual Store Trials (VST) has launched a self-serve product called Planogram Visualizer, to enable CPG brands and FMCG retailers to build virtual grocery shelves for planning and testing.

'Planogram Visualizer' Virtual Shelf ToolFounded in 2016 by former dunnhumby exec Nick Theodore, London-based VST creates virtual stores to help retailers assess the at-shelf outcome of any assortment change. Its new Planogram Visualizer is a shelf-imaging product which begins with inputs from existing planogram software or from photographs. Using a Product Master with access to high-resolution product images, dimensions, product names, and prices, the new tool combines all this metadata into virtual environments which are available for brands, retailers, and agencies.

Theodore comments: 'In March 2020, when the pandemic took hold, our clients started asking for shelf-images not just to conduct our shelf tests with, but to help them communicate their plans better to stores and around their teams when having to work remotely. We've now opened up this software to allow our partners to create and edit virtual shelves themselves giving anyone the ability to create layouts to win with shoppers.'
