Product Personalization Specialist Apptus Acquired

In Sweden, customer experience platform Voyado has acquired Apptus, which offers retailers and eCommerce companies a way to personalize their product discovery offer with 'automated relevance' across all channels. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Michael Mokhberi, founder of Apptus, and Johan BäckarlinApptus' solution, eSales, uses intent-based predictive modelling to personalize the shopping experience for each user by displaying the most relevant products based on their previous searches and clicks. Its AI and machine learning features also detect behavioural patterns and trends.

Following the takeover, Apptus will be available both stand-alone and as a suite within Voyado's portfolio, offering new tools for eCommerce and omnichannel retailers to drive customer acquisition, improve loyalty and generate profit streams. Voyado CEO and co-founder Johan Bäckarlin comments: 'Now, retailers can truly personalize their sites based on actionable customer insights and predictive, intent-based customer data. With Voyado and Apptus working together seamlessly, retailers will no longer need to try and stitch complicated software together to achieve their business goals'.
