Financial Technology Rankings Announced

US agency Financial Insights and Thomson Media publication American Banker have announced collaboration on a ranking of the top 100 global technology and service providers to the banking industry. The ranking, covering hardware, software and services suppliers, will be published in November 2004.
In addition to vital statistics for the top 100 banking technology companies, the ranking will show:
- the Top 25 Financial Technology companies, listing the largest software and services providers whose revenue is predominantly from the financial services industry, and
- the Top 10 enterprise technology companies in financial services, listing top horizontal companies who had significant revenue in the financial services industry.
According to David Longobardi, American Banker's editor-in-chief, his publication's readers need the perspective the rankings will afford, with the financial technology marketplace 'in the throes of major change'. Michon Schenck, chief operating officer at Financial Insights says the initiative is ground-breaking: 'We expect this to become a critical metric in the annual performance evaluations of the key providers in our industry'.
In addition to being distributed to clients and subscribers of the two partners, the ranking will be distributed at the Bank Administration Institute's 2004 Retail Delivery Conference in Las Vegas, NV (November 16 - 19).
