Zappi Reports on Boom Year

Automated insights platform Zappi has reported $50 million in sales in 2021, representing more than 30 percent growth in twelve months; and the hiring of more than 100 new employees during the year.

Zappi was launched in 2013 with London headquarters by MESH Planning Partner Stephen Phillips, and quickly spread internationally, expanding its marketplace both with its own tools and those of major agency partners like Millward Brown and Kantar TNS. The firm has attracted substantial investment and in recent years as groups launch their own online marketplaces has innovated further with own-brand products for tasks such as assessing the potential of creative campaigns, optimizing innovation through TURF analysis, concept testing and TV ad impact. Since restructuring its executive team eighteen months ago it has announced a raft of senior appointments including EVP-level leaders for Operations and Marketing, and Board positions for former Nielsen C-Suiters Mitch Barns and Marcy Shinder. In Summer of last year it acquired Chicago-based statistical analysis start-up Data Quorum.

Zappi says that starting this year its business model is 100% software-as-a-service based, and that it will follow up the launches of a predictive advertising model and macro insights reporting with further insight tools based on its data lake. CEO Phillips comments: 'We have invested significantly in our technology and talent over the past few years. The fact that Zappi is growing and has nearly zero churn in our top 100 accounts proves that clients are seeing the benefit of this investment'. Company President Ryan Barry comments: 'We are laser focused on making it easy for creators to get better answers using our data. We are continuing to innovate in making our data asset go to work for our customers'.
