ESOMAR Names Ambassadors for New Regional 'Hubs'

April 1 2022

Global MR association ESOMAR has named Leger President Jean-Marc Leger and Datum International CEO Urpi Torrado as Ambassadors for new regional 'hubs' in North America and Latin America, respectively.

Jean-Marc Leger and Urpi TorradoThe association has a membership of more than 6000 individual professionals and over 750 companies which provide or commission data analytics and research in more than 130 countries. Its ICC / ESOMAR International Code provides a universal professional standard for the global MR industry, and its Council is responsible for providing the strategic vision of ESOMAR and management of its executive arm.

Leger is the association's representative for Canada and Torrado for Peru. Their appointment in the regional roles is part of ESOMAR's new 'hub' programme, in which Ambassadors more closely connect with national associations and other in-country ESOMAR representatives, and advise the ESOMAR team on regionally relevant programming and strategies. The Ambassador programme has been driven by John Smurthwaite, who is ESOMAR Ambassador for APAC.

Kristin Luck, President of ESOMAR, comments: 'Fundamental to ESOMAR's position as a truly global association is our ability to serve our members in each region of the world. Many thanks to Jean-Marc Leger and Urpi Torrado for stepping into expanded leadership roles within their respective regions, and to John Smurthwaite who has been and continues to be a testament to the positive impact of the Ambassador role on ESOMAR's relevance within key markets and regions'.
