Pre-seed Funds for Web Site Analyst Umami

July 22 2022

In the US, web site analytics firm Umami has raised $1.5m in a pre-seed round of funding, which it will use to speed up staff recruitment.

The Cao BrothersFounded by brothers Mike, Brian and Francis Cao (pictured), Umami offers open-source, privacy-focused analytics, aiming to bring ownership and control of this data back to organizations, as an alternative to Google Analytics. In addition, the firm is able to track detailed web site activity - such as session duration, pages per session and source of traffic - without using cookies or collecting any personally identifiable information.

New funding has been led by Race Capital. Mike Cao comments: 'Umami was founded with the belief that all users should own their analytics data. We want users to have access to quality analytics without the need to rely on and entrust their data with giant tech companies like Google. Our customers are those who want to measure the success of their product or web site while respecting the privacy of their users'.
