US and UK Firms Launch the Consumer Behavior Lab

August 22 2022

New York-based ad agency XenoPsi and London-based behavioral science-led marketing agency Astroten have launched the Consumer Behavior Lab (CBL), promising to improve the effectiveness of clients' marketing messages and the channels where they are placed.

MichaelAaron Flicker and Richard ShottonXenoPsi agencies Method1 and Function Growth already use behavioral science, while Astroten draws on findings from psychology and behavioral science to offer marketing solutions 'grounded in evidence'. Following the launch, Method1 will use CBL to tap into hundreds of academic behavioral science studies for its ad clients, while Function Growth will use it to continue advancing its approaches to eCommerce.

The new unit will be overseen by XenoPsi founder and President MichaelAaron Flicker and Astroten founder Richard Shotton. Flicker says that in creating CBL the firms are formalizing their 'long-standing ambition' to bring the benefits of behavioral science to more companies across America.

Shotton adds: 'Behavioral science is valuable for brands as it helps them better understand how to influence their customers. But it's still woefully under-exploited. This partnership will make it easier for businesses to apply behavioral science by bridging the gap between academic studies and practical marketing applications'.
