McKinsey Veteran Joins Synovate

Synovate has appointed Mike Sherman in the newly-created role of Executive Director - Consumer Insights, with a special focus on the Hong Kong, Mainland China and Korea markets.

Sherman will report directly to the CEO of Synovate Asia Pacific, Tim Balbirnie, who says the ex-McKinsey consultant will help deliver a strategic edge to the agency's work. The appointment reflects client demands for MR to 'play a vital part in the overall marketing discipline... going beyond the realm of pure data collecting and reporting - and heading into analysing, consulting and brainstorming to name just a few activities'.

Sherman spent 17 years in a variety of roles at McKinsey. For the past seven years he built and led its Asia Pacific Marketing practice, and earlier he co-founded its Global CRM practice. He has particularly deep experience with banking and financial services, telecoms and FMCG. Prior to joining McKinsey, he worked with Procter & Gamble as a Brand Manager based in the USA. He graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA and is a Baker Scholar.
