In-Product Researcher Ribbon Secures Seed Funds

London-based in-product research platform Ribbon has raised £2.6m in a seed round of funding, for use in continuing to build out its technology and grow its team.

Axel ThomsonFounded in 2020 by former product manager Axel Thomson (pictured), Ribbon provides an interviewing platform to help researchers, designers, marketers and product managers video interview their own users. The firm has recently launched a tool called In-Product Surveys, through which user and product research teams can use short surveys to collect feedback continually from real users, directly within their own software products.

The company's new funding was led by Octopus Ventures, with participation from existing investors MMC Ventures and Concept Ventures, as well as a number of angel investors. Thomson comments: 'This funding is a huge step forward for the Ribbon team. We want to empower companies to build great products by making it easy to make informed product decisions. Democratising access to product research through easy-to-use and powerful tooling plays an important part in that process'.
