Ireland's Spearline Buys Analytics Firm Callstats

Spearline, a provider of communication testing technology based in Skibbereen, County Cork, has acquired the Callstats analytics, diagnostics and optimization technology for WebRTC from California-based 8x8, Inc.

Spearline was founded in 2003 by Kevin Buckley and Matthew Lawlor and now employs more than two hundred people across offices in Cork, Waterford and Ahmedabad, India. The firm provides technology for communication and monitoring at scale, allowing businesses to understand the customer call experience across 81 countries, 218 POPs (points of presence) and 300 carriers.

The buy, which follows that of Israeli-based communications solutions provider testRTC, will allow Spearline to use Callstats' proprietary technology to provide best in class solutions for testing and monitoring critical business telecommunication services for its global client base. The assets were sold by California, USA 8x8, Inc., for an undisclosed sum.
