ESOMAR will be hosting its 5th Telecom Marketing Conference from November 7 - 9, with the theme 'Navigating the dynamic global landscape'. Among other issues, papers will examine 'the massive impact of mobile technology on the evolution of society'.
The conference, hosted in the Radisson SAS Hotel in Brussels, aims to highlight the powerful contribution of market research in steering strategic decision making and developing key insights for moving the industry forward.
'In developed markets rapid network, device and content advancements are driving real convergence between telecommunications and IT functionality', according to programme committee Chairman, James Fergusson, National Director Telecoms/IT at TNS Australia (pictured). 'The mobile phone has emerged into so much more than a communications device. It now encompasses the functionality of digital still and video cameras, personal CD players, personal organizers, personal computers, gaming consoles, Internet cafes and much more. Just as in emerging markets, mobile technology is having a massive impact on the evolution of society in the world's more developed countries'.
The international programme committee also includes representatives from TNS Australia; Research International Group, UK; Nokia, UK; The Knowledge Management Company, Belgium; Motorola, USA; and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, Sweden.
