Nigeria-based MR and strategy firm Pierrine Consulting has launched a data collection company called AfrikanInsights in Lagos, led by Managing Director Ben Akpotaire.

Ben AkpotaireFounded in 2016, Pierrine focuses on driving growth for clients in the food and beverage, beauty manufacturing and financial services sectors, with more than 90 years of combined experience across Sub Saharan Africa. Its new company, AfrikanInsights, focuses on providing MR data to businesses and organizations operating, or planning to operate, in Africa.

AfrikanInsights is run by a team of native Africans who possess an understanding of the local culture, socio-economic dynamics, and language nuances, which it claims enables the company to gather data in a way that resonates with African consumers - capturing their authentic experiences, preferences, and behavior. Services include both quantitative and qualitative methods, along with the use of technologies and proprietary field-tested methods.

The team is led by Akpotaire (pictured), who is a Project Manager at Pierrine Consulting, and who previously worked at Millward Brown / Kantar, and Research International. Commenting on the launch, Akpotaire says: 'We believe that a data collection company run by native Africans is paramount to overcoming the challenges that often arise when collecting data in Africa. Our team understands the importance of cultural nuances, local languages, and social dynamics, which enables us to deliver insights that empower businesses to make informed decisions.'
