Funds for Shopify Data Specialist Polar Analytics

In New York, business intelligence platform Polar Analytics has raised $9m in Series A funding, and says it will continue hiring engineers and product designers with the aim of doubling its current headcount of 30 people, in the next eighteen months.

Polar's solution connects the apps Shopify retailers use to monitor their advertising, inventory, promotions, support and sales in one data platform, allowing 'indie brands worldwide to become future retail giants'. The company was founded in 2020 by David Dokes, previously manager of Turo's growth team, and Charbel Seif, formerly a data scientist at Airbnb; and now says it supports more than 2,200 brands with the US, UK, France and Australia its main markets.

The firm says the funds will also help it to expand its integrations, supporting Shopify brands in their transition to omnichannel commerce; and in their efforts to harness first-party data. The round was led by global B2B SaaS investor Point Nine Capital, with participation from existing investors Frst, angel investors, and Polar Analytics customers.
