Two Buys for Digital Experience Platform CoreMedia

Digital experience platform CoreMedia has acquired two companies: customer journey, engagement and personalization solutions firm BySide; and Smarkio, which provides chatbot solutions to B2C brands. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Andrew NikouBySide, which has offices in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and the US, helps companies convert visitors into buyers through its Lead Activation Hub. This allows companies to score and qualify leads, build audiences and personalise and optimise experiences on web and mobile applications.

Portugal-based Smarkio has developed technology to help understand who visits web sites / landing pages, in order to adapt communications in real time, act on leads according to their position in the sales cycle, and monitor actions on the customer database. It also provider web site chatbot solutions.

CoreMedia says the deals reinforce its ability to optimize digital experiences for customers, adding to its own real-time personalization and automation capabilities. Andrew Nikou (pictured), founder of CoreMedia' owner OpenGate Capital, says the investments represent 'a next step towards CoreMedia's creation of a cohesive and immersive digital experience platform and highlight its focus on product innovation and personalization capabilities'. He adds: 'We are excited to support the company as it grows'.
