Higher Logic Co-founder Returns as CEO

August 9 2023

Rob Wenger, the founder of community engagement platform Higher Logic, has returned to the company as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Kevin Boyce, who will leave the business by the end of the year.

Rob WengerUS-based Higher Logic helps track and manage community interaction - from the initial web visit to renewal and ongoing engagement - along each stage of the digital customer experience. Through the firm's communities, users can interact, share ideas, answer questions, and stay connected. Two years ago, the firm acquired online customer community platform Vanilla, and more recently, Higher Logic acquired eConverse Media, which specializes in the design, launch and management of communities.

Wenger (pictured) co-founded and served as CEO of Higher Logic in 2007, before stepping down in 2018, and moving to the part-time role of Co-Chair of the Board. He is re-joining the company after a series of leadership roles, including co-founding Cloud Generation, which builds tools for associations; and Chief Product Officer & Executive Chairman of Association Analytics.

In a statement, Higher Logic said Wenger is returning to the position as the business shifts to product innovation and strategic partnerships to accelerate growth. Bob Nye, General Partner at JMI Equity and Director at Higher Logic, comments: 'We thank Kevin Boyce for his service and commitment to Higher Logic, navigating the company through a transformative time. In conjunction with Kevin and Rob, the Board has concluded that the company is embarking on a journey to unify and lead the markets they serve with innovative solutions and partnerships and one that Rob is uniquely positioned to lead.'
