VNU Moves Board to USA

VNU has announced that CFO-designate Rob Ruijter and all Executive Board members will be located at its New York headquarters in the course of 2005, with some resulting job losses in Haarlem, Netherlands.

The announcement cites recent / current changes in the group's business portfolio and the fact that the majority of operations are now managed from New York.

A number of Haarlem-based corporate functions and roles are scheduled to be transferred to New York in the second half of 2005. The group expects around 40 jobs to go at its Haarlem headquarters, although 'less than half are directly related to the New York relocation'.

VNU nv, the top holding company with a listing on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange, will remain a Dutch legal entity with financing activities, and a sizeable part of VNU's headquarter operations will remain in Haarlem.
