Miami Buy Boosts Analytics for Consulting Firm CGI

Independent IT and business consulting firm CGI has acquired Momentum Consulting Corp., a Miami-based firm in the same sector and specializing in digital transformation, data analytics and managed services.

Mayte FernandezCGI boasts more than 90,000 consultants and professionals across the globe, combining a local client relationship model with a global delivery network to help clients digitally transform their organizations and accelerate results. Fiscal 2022 reported revenue was $12.87bn. The firm says this acquisition strengthens its position in Miami, a 'key growth market'. Momentum was founded in 2002 and employs 175 consultants as well as client relationships in retail, manufacturing, transportation and logistics.

Tim Hurlebaus, CGI President of US Commercial and State Government operations, says the companies are a 'great cultural fit' and their combined strength 'creates additional value for clients through deep industry and technology expertise, a commitment to delivering ROI-led digitization to address business and IT objectives - and with a priority focus on client satisfaction'.

Momentum Managing Partner and Co-CEO Mayte Fernandez (pictured) will now become SVP Consulting Services and Miami Metro Leader at CGI, and adds: 'The merger enables us to continue our growth trajectory by providing scale and access to new technology platforms, expertise and partners, a global delivery network, digital consulting capabilities, and managed services options'.
