Social Standards Launches 'Brand Maps' Tool

October 23 2023

Social media analyst Social Standards has launched a solution called Brand Maps which identifies fast-growing brands - including new entrants to a market which have not yet realised their potential in stores - and profiles their audiences.

Social Standards logoHeadquartered in Oakland, CA, private investor-backed Social Standards tracks and analyses very large volumes of consumer comment on social media, turning the data into actionable insights. The new solution was developed in tandem with partners from the consumer goods, private equity and investment banking sectors, and the firm says it will help clients spot market share threats, as well as assisting investment professionals wth deal sourcing and due diligence.

Features include Global Brand Profiles, a syndicated tool covering more than 25,000 brands across eight market sectors, creating 'actionable metrics akin to UPC codes and purchase panels'; Data Structuring and Analysis, using advanced AI and linguistic experitse; a Growth Potential Matrix updated monthly and categorizing brands into four quadrants - Leaders, Challengers, Sideliners and Decliners; and Integrated Audience Insights - including demographic, geographic and behavioral.

Head of Product Jordan Breslauer comments: 'The battle for retail sales begins on social platforms before it reaches the store or shelf. Traditional data sources can't always capture the rapid emergence of brands, much less shed light on the audiences and trends that are fueling their growth. Brand Maps bridges this gap, providing timely insights into brand trajectory and consumer interest based on authentic consumer conversations at scale.
