$10m for 'Reality Data' Marketplace Firm FlyGuys

Louisiana-based data capture company FlyGuys has closed a $10m Series A round of funding. The money will help fuel continuing innovation, create a scalable software solutions platform and strengthen the company's capacity to recruit and deliver nationwide.

FlyGuys provides an online marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of 'reality data' used in industries including construction, agriculture, green energy, telecommunications and insurance. The company maintains a network of local data capture providers, mostly drone pilots, in every US state.

Existing investors Mitchell Capital and Advantage Capital took part in the Series A. FlyGuys' Joe Stough, who moved from the role of Board Chairman to that of CEO a year ago, has led a reshaping of the business 'to fulfill the need for a nationally scaled online marketplace for reality data capture', and says the new funds will help create a highly scalable, cloud-based platform for connecting demand. He adds: 'I'm excited to work with this talented and motivated team to bring another tech startup to Louisiana and make an impact by creating jobs locally everywhere in the nation'.
