Funds for Datalogz to Tackle 'BI Sprawl'

December 15 2023

New York-based firm Datalogz has secured $5m in funding, which it will use to scale up its operations in response to 'staggering' demand from major corporations.

Funds for Datalogz to Tackle 'BI Sprawl'The firm targets 'data-mature' organizations, promising to help them 'harness the full potential of their BI (Business Intelligence) assets' in tools like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik and Looker. This includes reducing costs, saving time and reducing risk in areas such as governance, data security and misreporting. Datalogz says about 70% of major companies have three or more business intelligence platforms, leading to 'BI sprawl' - for example the same KPI may be reported in twenty different dashboards with slightly different calculations.

The new money, which adds to just under $3m raised earlier, will be used to expand the company's engineering, product and sales teams. The round was led by San Francisco-based GreatPoint Ventures, with participation from Graphene Ventures, Squadra Ventures, Berkeley Skydeck, Defined, Mana Ventures and Trajectory Ventures. Gautam Krishnamurthi, a Partner at GreatPoint, will joins the Datalogz Board.

CEO Logan Havern comments: 'This funding is a game-changer for us at Datalogz. It is not just an investment in our company; it is a testament to the transformative power of BI Ops and the need from every large enterprise. With this support, we are poised to revolutionize how organizations handle their data, turning complex environments into streamlined, efficient, and actionable insights'.
