Wheelock and Keller co-founded CX insights firm Dash Network in 2021, selling it two years later to the Futurum Group - earlier Wheelock founded Pike Research and Tractica, while Keller was MD of tech publication Light Reading. Cardamone joins after thirteen years at consulting services firm Guidehouse as Director - Sustainability & ESG, and earlier spent a decade as a VP at tech analyst IDC.

Canopy Edge's offerings fall into three main practice areas. Corporate Sustainability, which helps companies set objectives, measure progress, and design programs related to science-based targets, includes GHG Footprinting, target setting, abatement planning, supplier engagement and climate risk. Sustainability Intelligence practice applies rigorous research and analysis methodologies to provide the necessary insights on stakeholder priorities and perceptions, market positioning and industry benchmarks, and includes advice on regulatory compliance and disclosures as well as industry benchmarking, surveys and focus groups. Sustainability Messaging offers support for market messaging strategy, ESG reports and thought leadership content, syndication and lead generation.

The Canopy Edge management team has been advising Net Zero implementors since 2009, assisting 'hundreds' of CEOs and other C-level executives in sustainability, energy and technology markets, in more than 80 countries around the world.

Cardamone says effective strategies in the increasingly important area of community and environmental impact 'should incorporate economic, environmental and social factors into an organization's policies, practices and processes'. According to Wheelock, large companies have been building and implementing sustainability initiatives in recent years and the focus is now turning to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), which are a primary target market for Canopy Edge. Says Keller: 'Companies are also under increasing expectations to communicate their commitments to ESG improvement. To build credible messaging with internal and external stakeholders, companies must ensure their messaging is aligned with corporate values, and is genuine, transparent, and supported by concrete actions and data'.
