Ipsos Launch Brings AI into Innovation Process

February 28 2024

Ipsos has launched InnoExplorer, which uses generative and analytical AI to help clients accelerate innovation cycles 'from months to days' and improve success rates.

Virginia WeilIpsos says the launch, which promises clients the ability to quickly generate new ideas, concepts, products and packages directly from consumers' unmet needs, and accurately predict their potential, is 'part of its journey to augment every stage of the product lifecycle with artificial intelligence'. Backed by the group's 'vast' consumer databases of 150,000+ concepts and more than 6 million verbatims, as well as its forty-plus years of innovation research experience, InnoExplorer is available in 90 markets worldwide, with plans for further product enhancements through an agile platform. The AI models on which it is based are designed to continuously reflect consumers' evolving expectations, says the firm.

The models use authentic consumer data relevant to the product category, representative of the target audience and traceable to avoid AI 'hallucinations'.

Virginia Weil, Ipsos' Global Service Line Leader for Innovation & Product Development comments: 'Grounded in Ipsos' high-quality data sets, prompt engineering and data science, InnoExplorer represents a new frontier in innovation development - where clients can bring more curiosity, creativity and rigor into their innovation process with the confidence to go further'.
