J.D. Power Buy Gives it European Auto Platform

March 1 2024

US-based data firm J.D. Power has completed the acquisition of Autovista Group, which provides automotive data, analytics and industry insights in Europe and Australia, from asset management firm Hayfin Capital Management. Autovista CEO Lindsey Roberts becomes President of J.D. Power Europe.

Lindsey RobertsIn addition to the Autovista brand, the acquired Group operates Eurotax, Glass's, Schwacke, Rødboka and EV Volumes. Its solutions standardize and categorize the technical attributes of virtually every vehicle produced in their markets, providing clients with comprehensive vehicle data for use in valuations, forecasts and repair estimates. In addition, its analytic solutions and team provide detailed insights and benchmarks for vehicle values and ownership, repair and replacement costs, for clients across the industry.

The buy was first announced in September last year, and brings together Autovista's detailed datasets, insights and industry expertise with J.D. Power's predictive analytics, valuation and customer experience datasets. The group's 750 employees including Roberts (pictured) and the senior leadership team will continue with the company and provide J.D. Power's automotive data and analytics platform for Europe and Australia.

J.D. Power President and CEO Dave Habiger comments: 'Autovista Group is home to some of Europe and Australia's most well-known brands in automobile valuation, repair estimation and predictive analytics, and they have been pioneering the use of data-driven insights since the early 1930s. Bringing the Autovista Group team into the J.D. Power family will help leverage our complementary strengths to develop even more powerful insights and forecasting solutions for our worldwide client base'. Roberts, who joined Autovista in 2014 and was previously Chief Executive of Informa's Business Intelligence division, says this is an historic moment for the auto industry, with 'future success largely determined by how well the industry adapts to massive changes in everything from new powertrains to the use of AI'. She adds: 'I believe our mutual obsession with data-driven innovation will help our clients navigate through this period of change with confidence'.
