Law-Based Consultancy MDR Launches Insights Business

Mishcon de Reya (MDR Group), a business services group with a focus on legal advice, has launched a market insights and analytics business called MDRi, providing strategic advisory services to businesses worldwide. Simon Tye will lead the new division as Chief Executive Officer.

Simon TyeMishcon de Reya employs just over 1450 people of whom around 650 are lawyers - but also includes a technology consultancy called MDRx, and other specialisms. The new Hong Kong-based MDRi will collect and analyse data about markets, industries and consumer behaviour, with a particular focus on private sector clients across Asia in the financial services, automotive, real estate, luxury retail, tourism and leisure sectors.

The agency, which can also call upon resources in Singapore and London, will offer market research studies, to help clients understand their target markets and untapped opportunities; competitive analysis; and trend forecasting, including predictive analytics techniques, to anticipate future market and technology developments as well as shifts in customer preferences. MDRi will operate in close collaboration with Mishcon de Reya LLP, the other MDR Group companies and in-house learning and development centre the Mishcon Academy.
