Funds for Data Management Tech Firm Observe

San Mateo, CA-based Observe, which helps clients store, manage and analyze their business data, has raised $115m in a Series B funding round, earmarked for expansion in North America.

Led by CEO Jeremy Burton, the company gathers client enterprises' scattered silos of data into a single data lake, then helps them turn it into actionable information using Data Graph technology. Uses include troubleshooting poorly functioning applications, enhancing security or reviewing customer feedback.

The round was led by Sutter Hill Ventures with participation from existing investors Capital One Ventures and Madrona and new investor Snowflake Ventures: Snowflake is a long-time partner of the company, whose software is closely integrated with the data marketplace. Observe has now raised around $205m across various fundings, according to techcrunch.com, and is valued somewhere around $400m.
