Arbitron Appoints PPM Supremo

Audience measurement specialist Arbitron Inc. has named Pierre Bouvard as President, Portable People Meters (PPM) and International, with overall responsibility for the introduction of the PPM local market ratings services in the United States.

Bouvard, who retains his current responsibilities for PPM marketing in international markets, will promote the benefits of PPM to radio, broadcast TV and cable TV industries in the US as well as advertising agencies and advertisers.

President and CEO Steve Morris says there is 'no person at Arbitron who is better qualified to help the U.S. radio and television business realize the benefits that the Portable People Meter can deliver'.

Jay Guyther, Senior VP, Domestic PPM Marketing will report to Bouvard, who will work with Brad Bedford, VP, International PPM Marketing, and Clara Carneiro, VP, Latin America Marketing, on Arbitron's international marketing efforts.

Bouvard was previously head of Arbitron New Ventures, creating the Outdoor division, and the Custom Research division, which developed the comScore Arbitron Online Radio Ratings service.
