Former BBC and John Lewis Director Joins Boots

Charlotte Lock has joined British high street retail stalwart Boots, as SVP for Customer and Marketing. Her experience includes a range of customer, data, loyalty and audience roles at John Lewis, the Co-op and the BBC.

Charlotte LockHealth, beauty and pharmacy chain Boots is part of the Walgreens Boots Alliance, acquired in August this year by investor Sycamore Partners. Significant senior changes occurring this year include the poaching of Asda exec Simon Gregg as its new Chief Retail, Logistics and Pharmacy Operations Director; and the departure after four and a half years of CMO Pete Markey, according to www.retailgazette.co.uk .

Lock (pictured) joins from London's Victoria & Albert Museum where she has served for the last five months as Exec Board Member for Audiences, following a three-year stint as Pan-Partnership Customer Director at John Lewis Partnership. Before this she spent two years as Director of Data, Loyalty and Digital Products at the Co-Op, and eight years at the BBC, in roles including Director, Youth Strategy, BBC Sport; Director, BBC Sounds; Director of Marketing and Audiences; and Head of Media & Audience Engagement. Earlier in her career she worked for ten years as a Managing Partner at ad agency McCann Worldgroup.

In her new role she reports to Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Steve Ager, who comments: 'Charlotte joins us with deep expertise in developing leading customer journeys for loved retail brands and creating seamless connections across marketing, branding and loyalty initiatives.'
