Nunwood Launches Tool for Category Managers

July 4 2005

UK agency Nunwood Consulting has launched a new research package for retail Category Managers. The product, which promises time and cost savings, is aimed at providing insight into customer motivations, rather than simply relying on sales figures.

Over the past ten years, retail category management has become widespread as a way to meet customers' needs and make shopping easier. Nunwood's new tool is based around just one survey, designed to uncover the answers needed for successful category management, and to achieve results more quickly and efficiently than several separate ad hoc projects. In addition, the company offers a range of other techniques including accompanied shopping, exit interviews and customer spy panels.

Ian Addie, Client Consultant at Nunwood, comments: 'To manage a category effectively, an in-depth understanding of purchasing behaviour is crucial. This survey will give Category Managers a single tool that can provide them with more insight than ad hoc projects. This in turn means that consumer research can be effectively incorporated into business planning'.
