OmniTaxi Goes Your Way

July 7 2005
European online fieldwork and panel specialist Research Now has launched the OmniTaxi - an online alternative to the traditional omnibus. The service, which it is claimed will be more flexible, cost effective and targeted than an omnibus, will be available in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

The new service is conducted according to clients' particular needs, rather than following a set weekly or monthly timetable. Clients will be able to choose the timing of research, the sample size (500, 1,000 or 2,000), and the target group (eg principal grocery shoppers, Vodafone customers, online gamblers), sourced from Research Now's 600,000-strong European panels. Prices start at £360 per question for a minimum of five questions, with results turned around within 48 hours.

Andrew Cooper, Managing Director, Research Now said: 'We took the view that just to launch an online product replicating a traditional omnibus would be to sell short the capabilities of our highly profiled online panels. Why offer our clients nationally representative people if they actually want those who are Sky subscribers, or females aged 18-24? Also, why offer the inflexibility of a bus that must go at fixed times, when we could just send the taxi at our clients' convenience?'
