MRA Launches Hurricane Aid Blog

September 1 2005

The US Marketing Research Association (MRA) has launched a Researcher-to-Researcher Relief Assistance Blog to help marketing and research professionals affected by Hurricane Katrina. The blog allows research professionals to exchange information online about what they need, or can provide for colleagues in need.

Within minutes of the blog's launch, researchers from around the country were offering to help. A quick look at the blog now shows hundreds of offers - from office space, PCs, phone lines, CATI facilities and commercial kitchens to assistance with surveys, data analysis, and recruitment.

MRA Executive Director Larry Brownell explains that the blog is available to the entire MR community, not just MRA members. He says 'we have always been a cohesive community and this is just one small way that MRA can help'.

The Marketing Research Association's meeting scheduled for November 2nd to 4th was originally to have been held at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans. The MRA is hoping to announce a new location for the meeting later this week.

The blog is online at www.mra-net.org/rrblog.cfm
