New Draft Director to Lead Nokia Projects

October 7 2005

US agency Draft has hired John Kenny, from Ireland's Diageo, to join its growing Strategic Planning and Research team as VP and Strategic Planning Director. Kenny will work primarily on Draft's global business for Nokia, and will report to the team's Director Jim Lucas.

Most recently, Kenny worked as Senior Consumer Planning Manager for retail and spirits at Diageo. He was responsible for marketing and trade strategies, with a focus on understanding consumer behaviour at the point-of-purchase. He has previously worked as a Senior Research Analyst at C&R Research Services in Chicago. A Fulbright Scholar, Kenny has a Master's degree in Politics from University College in Dublin. He continued his studies at the University of Chicago, where he received a PhD in Political Science.

Kenny's initial project at Draft will be to identify the attitudes that drive shopper behaviour, and to develop targeted retail strategies for Nokia. Speaking of the new appointment, Lucas stated that Kenny 'understands how people think and effectively combines that with his extensive research capabilities', and says his 'insights will prove invaluable to Nokia as we continue to develop and roll out global strategies'.

Draft, a member of the Interpublic Group, is online at www.draftworldwide.com.
