Urban TV Network Signs With Nielsen

In the US, Urban Television Network Corporation has signed up for Nielsen Media's national and local syndication service. The agreement will allow the company's UATV network, which specifically targets urban African Americans and English-speaking Hispanic Americans, to use Nielsen audience data for programming and advertising purposes.

UATV is broadcast to approximately 70 affiliate television stations across the United States, reaching more than 22m households. Jacob Miles, CEO, says the company is 'committed to delivering measurable results to advertisers wanting to reach the 80 million urban consumers'.

Susan Whiting, CEO of Nielsen Media Research, says her company is 'firmly committed to the urban community', and that the agreement 'demonstrates that Nielsen is responsive and dedicated to this enormous market segment'.
