Dunnhumby Hires Media Director

January 24 2006

Marketing consultancy dunnhumby has appointed Jeremy Caplin, formerly of Nestlé, to the newly created role of UK Media Director. Reporting to Graham Thomas, the newly appointed Head of Communications and Media, Caplin will be responsible for developing the company's media planning and evaluation services.

Caplin was most recently Nestlé's Strategic and Operational Marketing for the Purina pet food market and portfolio in the UK & Ireland. While there, he developed the World of Felix loyalty scheme, took pet food advertising into the cinema, and developed the company's use of local classified advertising.

He previously worked in brand and marketing positions at Monster.com, Reckitt Benkciser and Procter & Gamble, and has also judged both the British Television Advertising Awards and the IPA awards.

Thomas says the new appointment will help the company to 'challenge and usurp the way that media planning and evaluation is done today by the traditional agencies'. He adds that Caplin will help to 're-write the marketing rulebook through our marketing mix optimisation capability'.

dunnhumby employs a combination of data management and analysis, creative skills and business expertise to gain customer insights. Clients include Tesco, Kroger, Gillette, P&G, GlaxoSmithKline, Muller and Nestle. The company, which has offices in London and Ohio, is online at www.dunnhumby.com
