SSI Builds Presence in Europe

January 27 2006

US-based Survey Sampling International (SSI) has announced an integrated approach to providing sampling services in Europe. The company has appointed Andrew Moffatt as Sales Director for Europe, is planning new offices in Madrid and Frankfurt, and is developing a panel in Ireland.

Moffatt was previously a Senior Account Executive at the firm's Connecticut headquarters. Now based in London, he joins Pete Cape, Martin Cawley, Kim Fredrik Schneider, and Gaelle Normand, who handles UK operations.

Michel Guidi (former VP Operations at Ciao) joined as COO to run the European operations in September (www.mrweb.com/drno/news4566.htm ) He is based in a new Paris office, together with Nicolas Nore, Geraldine Donat, Celine Chardon, and Renaud Farrugia. The European operations, which include an office in Rotterdam, now employ 60 staff.

The company has panels of between 120,000 and 300,000 in Europe's biggest markets (UK, France, Germany, Netherlands), and 85,000 in Spain. In recent months, operations and sales teams have been gathering feedback from European clients. As a result, the company has introduced a new health screener for panelists, a new business screener that allows clients to target certain job titles, and an auto screener that allows researchers to select year of manufacture, in addition to car segment, brand, and model.

Guidi says: 'Having run online projects in Europe since 2000, I believe the key to good service and successful project management is for our experts to get closer to our clients. Our project managers sit down with their counterparts on the client side, and work together until the project is complete.'
