Keyword Search for Qual Recordings

February 15 2006

Nexidia, a US provider of media search and speech analytics software, is partnering with ActiveGroup, which provides videostreaming for MR, to provide an easy way to search qualitative research results. The new offering - ActiveSearch - lets clients search video footage of focus groups and interviews for key words or phrases.

The tool employs phonetic search and retrieval technology, designed by Nexidia. Users can search for a word, phrase or word combination in the audio track of focus groups or interviews. When the results are returned, they can then play the section or create video clips of specific sections of content.

According to John Willcutts, CEO and President of Nexidia: 'Consumer package organisations, pharmaceutical companies, and advertising agencies have a unique need to not only administer but also search and analyse focus group audio-video information.'

David Nelems, President of ActiveGroup, says Nexidia's new technology 'is the most advanced in the industry'. He adds: 'The fact that there is no front-end work required with custom dictionaries and training, truly makes this an easy-to-use add-in for our videostreaming services.'

The companies are online at www.nexidia.com and www.activegroup.net
