Video Research Given TV Slot

February 23 2006

UK research and TV production company Vox Pops International is to broadcast a series of three research video programmes on television, in association with Information TV Ltd. The programmes, aimed at bringing video MR to a wider audience, include interviews about finance with Over 50s and Young Professionals.

The videos will be broadcast daily at 4pm between Monday 20th February and Saturday 25th February (in addition to a 4am slot) and at 18.00 on Sunday 26th February on Information TV, Sky digital satellite channel 277*. Vox Pops says they will 'allow a wider audience to understand and see the benefits of using video in market research to make findings real and bring them to life, while also making the methodology more accessible for the industry.'

With consumer debt at an all time high and with personal bankruptcy reaching record levels, the Finance programme shows contrasting views between different age groups of the general public. The Young Professionals programme highlights the progressively longer working hours of young people aged 23 years and over in professional employment, and looks at everything from fashion and the Internet to media and work place issues.

According to MD John Earnshaw, 'this form of research is gaining favour as it adds a more complete expression of what consumers are really thinking. We are delighted to support a programme that explains this approach and reveals, in this case, what people really think about their finances.'

Vox Pops operates worldwide, providing camera people, editors and producers to film and edit videos for qualitative research, communications, events & conferences, advertising & other uses. Since 1987 it has worked on over 3,000 projects for more than 500 companies. It is online at www.voxpops.co.uk . Information TV uses an 'unusual' OFCOM licence to allow organisations to enhance their communications using TV programmes they create, inviting key audiences to watch. It is also available via broadband at www.information.tv as a live video stream.
