Tool Offers Panel Providers Alternative to Email

February 27 2006

TargetN Research LLC has launched a 'Notification Tool' (TNT(tm)) which it claims will be 'of special interest to market research firms as an alternative distribution channel to reach their survey panels'. The company says spam filters and ISP restrictions on bulk emails make email 'increasingly dysfunctional' as a means of reaching survey panels.

TNT(tm) provides instant communication with a 'motivated audience', whether clients, employees or interested members of the public. The technology allows companies to contact users through their own branded desktop application, with complete control over when and how contact is made.

Manager Rachel Nichols says the patent-pending tool 'eliminates problems with e-mail communication, such as end-user reluctance to provide an email address, clogged in-boxes, viruses, spam filters, and read delays'. The tool removes reliance on emails, intranets or web site visitation.

Nichols suggests other uses apart from MR - 'delivery of instant news bulletins and sports scores by media and news organizations, or use by brick-and-mortar or on-line retailers to alert customers to coupons, special offers and sales - but indicates that MR is seen as a primary function. 'TNT(tm) eliminates the bottlenecks and gives market research firms a direct channel to their panelists.'

The company, founded in 2004 and based near Minneapolis, Minnesota, is online at www.targetn.com
