New Consulting Practice and MD for In-Stat

High-tech US MR firm In-Stat has launched a new practice, In-Stat Consulting, and appointed a new MD to head it up, Charles Gerlach.

The new division will extend In-Stat's custom-tailored offerings which are based around syndicated research in a number of technology markets, combined with technical expertise.

Gerlach, whose title will be Managing Director for Consulting, worked at Gemini Consulting as research manager and later group manager for its 'C4 Lab' Strategic Research Group, then as a Director at Mainspring, a venture capital-backed strategy firm that was acquired by IBM in 2001. At IBM, he was Global Communications Sector Lead at the IBM Institute for Business Value. Most recently, he worked as an independent consultant. He holds a BA from Harvard College and a JD from Harvard Law School, and will be based in Chicago.

In-Stat, which is online at www.in-stat.com , offers research and analysis for markets including advanced communications services, infrastructure, end-user devices and semiconductors. It is part of the Reed Elsevier global information network.
