New Office and Tools for Sensory Solutions

March 29 2006

Australian agency Sensory Solutions has relocated to larger new premises at Northmead in the centre of Sydney, following a year of activity building its team, infrastructure and range of methodologies. The latter include new tools for pricing research and the analysis of children as consumers.

Enhanced support teams now provide the firm's consultants with statistical expertise, consumer recruitment, data processing and fieldwork. Meanwhile its Innovations Programs have developed new methodologies and technologies including:

  • kidsense - a range of research projects to further develop the understanding of children's behavioural approach to consumer products, headed by senior staff Dr Cathy Gair and Dr Melanie Turner, both of whom have PhD's in children's sensory research techniques.
  • PricePoint Demand - a new research tool for manufacturers to look at the impact of price on volume across a broad range of products, developed by Statistical Director Dr Trevor Cooper. The tool also predicts the influence of a value add promotion and has been used as a pricing tool for the retail trade.
Sensory Solutions works with Food Science Australia to promote quality sensory research. It is online at www.sensorysol.com
