Senior Hires and Promotions for RI in Italy and UK

Research International (RI) has announced a number of senior appointments. Stefano Carlin joins from Ipsos to lead the company in Italy; Steve Mitchell becomes UK COO; and Annette Müller, David Walker, Dave Phillips and Mark Kingsbury also assume new senior Director roles.

Carlin joins from Ipsos Italy where he was Director of Ipsos Marketing and Ipsos Novation. Previously he was with Millward Brown, most recently as a Key Regional Accounts & Business Integration Director with the MB Europe team. He has also been the firm's CEO in Italy and Spain. Before joining Millward Brown he was Deputy MD at Abacus Sofres in Milan.

Mitchell begins as UK COO from July 1, and will be responsible for RI's relationship with Kantar Operations and will lead operational and commercial initiatives in the UK.

Müller has been appointed Expert Units Director in the UK and will join the UK Board, with immediate effect. She will manage the UK Qualitative Team, the Innovation Specialists Fifteen20, the Mystery Customer Research Team and the UK's Marketing Science Centre. She was previously RI's Global Business Director for Vodafone and most recently Vodafone Global Client Leader for Kantar.

Walker, previously in charge of the Marketing Science Centre, has been appointed Client Service Director in the UK, in which role he will build a team to work with other units to enhance account management and quality.

Phillips, previously RI's Director of Integration and Expertise and prior to that MD of its Consumer Division, will be assuming the role of UK Client Development Director, responsible for developing and growing relationships with existing clients.

Kingsbury has been appointed Global Solutions Director for Market Strategy, and will work with the Group Director of Global Solutions Roger Sant. Kingsbury was previously Creative Director in the UK and prior to that ran the UK's Business and Technology division.
