Moore Steps Up to Lead NPD Canada

May 31 2006

US consumer and retail information provider The NPD Group has given the leadership of its Canadian business unit to Larry Moore, a 23-year veteran of the company.

Moore is already on NPD's Leadership Committee and has spent two decades managing information services for the automotive products, petroleum, and convenience-store industries. As President of the Canadian operation he will be based in Toronto and will lead all lines of business including apparel, automotive, consumer electronics, food and beverages, foodservice, footwear, housewares, technology and video games.

Before joining NPD, Moore worked for MR and consulting firm Auto-Facts, and for Gulf Oil's consumer marketing division. He holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University and an M.S. from the University of Florida.

Group President Randy Smith says he and his colleagues were 'delighted to already have someone on the NPD team who was ideal for the role... Larry's long-standing success with NPD's automotive business - especially his proven ability to partner and innovate with other NPD offices in the U.S. and globally - will certainly serve us well across all our lines of business in Canada.'

Moore will keep his responsibilities as North American Regional Champion for the automotive industry sector, but will pass management responsibility for the US automotive business unit to Vice President Dawn Zieren. Zieren has spent the last eighteen years at NPD and has worked closely with Moore for almost all that time, allowing her to 'seamlessly take the reins' according to Smith.
