TNS Ireland to Boost Panel Size

July 3 2006

TNS has announced a major expansion of its FMCG consumer tracking Worldpanel service in the Republic of Ireland, from 1,350 households to 3,000 by August 2008, along with the launch of a new data delivery platform.

The expansion will facilitate a greater depth and breadth of data analysis, allowing the firm to profile consumers and integrate knowledge of their behaviour from different areas. TNS Ireland MD Marie Burke comments: 'There are three key benefits to the build. Firstly there will be a new dimension in consumer understanding, new types of demographic description and many more analysis options. Secondly a bigger sample provides you with more accurate data and a deeper insight. Finally there will be a new data delivery platform.'

Worldpanel™ is TNS's continuous consumer panel offering, with coverage extending to more than 50 countries worldwide. Data collection methods include bar code scanners, Internet, till receipt scanning, paper diaries and interviewing.

The company is online at www.tns-global.com .
