Shugoll is New MRA President

July 14 2006

In the US, the Marketing Research Association (MRA) has announced the recent installation of Merrill Shugoll as President for the 2006-07 term, which will include celebrations for the association's 50th Anniversary, at its Annual Conference in San Francisco in June 2007.

Shugoll brings over 30 years of research experience to the position and was officially installed as President at last month's Conference in Washington, DC.

Shugoll says she is 'thrilled that MRA will celebrate its 50th Anniversary during my term', adding: 'It is my fervent wish that, this year, MRA's accomplishments and collaborations in education, technology, legislative affairs, business development and public outreach help to ensure the health of the profession for the next 50 years.'

Shugoll has also sat on the MRA Board of Directors since 2000, and served as Secretary before being elected President. She began her career as a Senior Executive Officer at the Market Research Bureau, a division of Henry J. Kaufman & Associates, where she worked for ten years. She then joined Shugoll Research in 1984, creating a full service division for what had previously been a field service firm. Today, Shugoll Research is one of the Top 100 research companies in the country according to Advertising Age. Shugoll is a frequent speaker at MRA Conferences and has chaired several MR committees including the Conference Program Workgroup and the MRA/QRCA Joint Committee Screener/Re-Screener Task Force.

Established in 1957, MRA's international membership encompasses companies and professionals engaged in all segments of marketing and opinion research including end users, full service researchers, data collectors and support service providers. It is online at www.mra-net.org .
