SSI Asia Opens Beijing Office, Makes Senior Hires

SSI Asia, Survey Sampling's Pan Asia operation hub, has announced that it will officially launch the company's Beijing office in August. The office will provide Internet and telephone sample and project management, and build a broad panel community for Pan Asian survey research.

According to SSI Asia President, Juai Kong, 'The demand for online research in the Asia market is increasing rapidly. Beijing, the political and economic centre of China, has a population of more than 15 million. The time is right to strengthen our service force in this region. With the high penetration of online research in the domestic market, clients based in Japan, Korea, and elsewhere are seeking to take advantage of SSI's online methodology.'

He added: 'SSI Asia is in the process of growing our China panel from 100,000 to 300,000 this year. We are planning to maintain a community of panelists covering not only China but also other Asia countries beyond 2007. With technical support from SSI Europe, the preparation of the panel web site is going smoothly.'

In addition, SSI Asia has expanded its team of sampling professionals. Joining JK Leong, President, and Bill Zuo, Director, are Toshisada Mizuno, Country Manager, Japan, and Ning 'Tom' Chen, Project Manager.

Mizuno will support SSI Asia's Sales and Marketing activities, measuring client satisfaction as well as enlisting new clients. Formerly with AIP Corporation in Tokyo, Mizuno served in the Finance and Administration Division. Prior to that, he was with Takara Leben, also in Tokyo, in its finance department.

Chen is responsible for client service and programming including SAP. Before joining SSI Asia, he was supply chain supervisor/specialist with Beijing Novartis Pharmaceutical. Prior to that, he was a logistics specialist with J. Blackwoods, Sydney, Australia.
